Applications for Power Plant Technicians Now Being AcceptedIndividuals who have not taken the battery of pre-employment tests for the position of Power Plant Technician are encouraged to submit an application. This includes individuals with prior power plant experience, as well as individuals who have solid work experience in a manufacturing environment or continuous process-type industry, refining, steel mill, chemical plant, etc. Exiting military personnel with boiler/power generation experience are also encouraged to apply. Individuals who meet Prairie State’s screening requirements will be advised as to the next steps in the employment process, including taking the battery of Edison Electric Institute (EEI) pre-employment tests. The EEI tests are industry standard tests that will help Prairie State identify those individuals with aptitudes for success in the power generation industry. Anyone interested in viewing sample EEI tests may do so by clicking here and entering "prairie" as the login, and "state" as a password. Applications may be submitted by clicking on the “Careers” menu above, then clicking on “PSEC Employment Listings,” entering keywords “Power Plant Technician” and following the instructions provided.
